Simon Young is a private hire driver by day and a drummer at night. He came to MyStore Self Storage Witney, after searching for a place to store his drum kits.
Playing for over 20 years in various bands covering a variety of styles. He even toured as a drum technician with Steve Winwood!
Too hot too cold!
Simon lives in Great Rissington with his wife Dee and their 8 year old daughter Lola.
Up until recently, the family home has been filled with the drum kits. Simon knew he needed to sort it.
He did keep them in his attic but the temperature fluctuated so much; it got too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter.
The expensive equipment is kept immaculate so it was essential for him to find somewhere clean, safe, secure and temperate to store the drum kit. Simon knew how much it would please his wife if he moved the kit out of the family home. She’d dropped enough hints!

Simon now stores four and a half drum kits and a selection of lighting equipment in one of MyStore’s 50sqft storage rooms and he’s even talking about needing more space. The extra room at home, has definitely pleased everyone.
“The 24-hour access makes it so helpful, I can swing by after a gig and unload my kit late at night. He doesnt have to worry about it the next day.”
Simon’s band is called The Album Project, recreating live performances of some of the most important albums from the past 4 decades they are currently touring in the local area so be sure to get yourself to one of their gigs!
